At Comfy Compass, our mission is to make communication feel safe, playful, and rewarding. We design games that support children with selective mutism and anxiety, helping them find their voice at their own pace. By blending evidence-based strategies with fun, interactive play, we create experiences that lower pressure and build confidence step by step.
Why Games for Selective Mutism?
Selective mutism (SM) is an anxiety disorder where children may feel unable to speak in certain settings, even though they can communicate comfortably in others. Traditional therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when speaking is framed as a demand. That’s where Comfy Compass takes a different approach: speech becomes part of the game, not a chore.
Our games are grounded in gradual exposure, play, and positive reinforcement—strategies shown to support children with SM. By interacting with colorful characters, fun challenges, and gentle rewards, children can practice speaking in ways that feel natural, enjoyable, and empowering.
